Candlewood Suites
Location: Yuma, Arizona
Challenge
The Candlewood Suites project at the Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona required contractors to put together a unique combination of features. The new 92-room on-post hotel for visiting military personnel and their families needed to provide all the comforts and amenities of a standard inn with security features more common to the armed forces.
Solution
American Direct, which was hired to provide product for all the openings in the building through its nearby regional service center in Tempe, helped identify and deliver special sound transmission class (STC)-rated items for both the room entry doors and the doors that connected individual suites.
This rating assured the Army that not only would unwanted noise and conversation be absorbed by the doors, but also that guests could count on absolute confidentiality.
